Come and join us on this late summer retreat in southern Spain. Dive deep into healing Yoga/Qi Gong practice with twice daily sessions and daily group meditations to rebalance your body and refresh your spirit. Much more than just a relaxing break, you will come away with a new skill set and a new perspective on life.

Sat 14th - Thur 19th September
Mas Mananas, Cerro Gordo on the Costa Tropical

So who is this retreat for? Anyone who is looking to create more balance in their life. Anyone who wants more energy and less stress. Anyone who wants to live life in a meaningful way and to touch deeper levels. To join in, you don't need to have a regular practice or even be fit...but you might be curious as to how to create more flow in your life, to connect to your intuition, to hear your body's innate wisdom beyond its temporary wants and needs.

Our practice will combine two ancient traditions: Yoga and Qi Gong. Qi Gong, an energy healing art originating from China, explores human potential through activating and utilizing subtle energy. Like Yoga, Qi Gong uses movement, breath and meditation. Both practices work with our internal life force energy, called Qi in Qi Gong and Prana in Yoga. Both practices take us on an inward journey in search of Higher Truth. Even though they share the same intention, each operates somewhat differently to cultivate the body’s life force energy. In Yoga, we stretch to release tension and free up stagnant energy. Yoga asanas offer linear extension, working directly on the physical structure. In Qi Gong, we use flowing and circular movements, first to connect to and then to direct with our intention the flow of Qi, working directly with the energy body. This practice is not defined by physical fitness or flexibility, as Gong literally means skill in working with energy (Qi).

When both practices are combined, the synergy creates a strong yet flexible container for life force energy to move through and give us practical tools to co-create the life we desire.

The Team

Every endeavour requires a combined effort and while I will teach most sessions, I have persuaded Stephen to share some of his meditation experiences with us. Stephen has been practicing meditation since 1972 and qualified as a Transcendental Meditation Teacher on a 4-month retreat where, much to his surprise, he was inspired to become an entrepreneur. For the next 40 years he founded several businesses and acted as an Advisor to others whilst retaining his keen interest in meditation and spirituality. He became an NLP Master Practitioner in 2007 and a coach a year later. Stephen will give his unique insights into meditation practices and no doubt tell a few amusing stories on the way!

Grant, is the lucky guy who owns the beautiful house where the retreat is held and will be on hand to advise on excursions and local gems. He will also reign over the kitchen providing us with delicious and healthy food.

Tanya Waters is a qualified holistic massage therapist with 15 years experience. She has been passionate about holistic well being, diet and nutrition from an early age and learnt her craft in the UK and Thailand. She has developed a unique style of practise which combines traditional massage techniques, including Thai, Sports, Swedish and Deep tissue, Indian head massage with Aromatherapy and Reflexology. She will be providing one complementary treatment during the retreat tailored to each clients needs and will also be available for additional treatments (at extra cost).

Our home for 5 nights will be Mas Mananas, a lovely villa perched on hills 12km east of Nerja. All 5 double/twin bedrooms are ensuite or have private bathrooms. Our practice will take place on one of the shaded terraces with magnificent uninterrupted sea views. Oh, and there is a double infinity edged outdoor pool.

Due to the small number of places available on this retreat, we are unable to offer single room accommodation. Please come with your loved one or your bestie. For single participants, we will match you with another person in a spacious twin room. You never know, they might become your life long friend! Alternatively, if you prefer a solo stay, we will suggest some hotels nearby and offer the retreat minus the accommodation price. Please enquire.

Here is a little preview of the Mas Mananas:

Food is medicine and we will treat you to three delicious, vegetarian (with fish option) meals a day, apart from lunch on Wednesday, when we travel to a local beach. All food is grown locally and cooked freshly for you at the retreat venue by Grant. We will follow Ayurvedic principles in choosing foods that nourish the body and mind (senses) while being easy to digest. To facilitate this, we will have larger meal at lunchtime and lighter in the evening to prepare the body for a good rest at night.

We can cater for your dietary requirements.
